Celebrating Diversity: OLC's Harmonious Dashain Festival

At the OLC Nursing Home, we take immense pride in our diverse and inclusive work culture. Our dedicated staff members come from a multitude of cultural backgrounds, enriching our facility with their unique perspectives and traditions. We believe in respecting and celebrating this diversity to create a harmonious and supportive working environment.

One such occasion where we embrace cultural diversity is during the Dashain Festival, celebrated in Nepal as Vijaya Dashami. Dashain is the most significant and extended festival in the Hindu calendar, marked by joy, togetherness, and the celebration of victory of good over evil.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional staff members who, despite the personal significance of Dashain, choose to prioritise their professional commitment by showing up to work during this festive period. In recognition of their dedication, we host a special celebration right within our facility homes

During the Dashain Festival, our staff showcases their rich cultural heritage by donning traditional costumes from their respective backgrounds. This not only adds vibrancy to our environment but also allows residents to learn about and appreciate the diversity that surrounds them.

We go a step further by preparing and serving authentic cultural dishes, ensuring that everyone can savour the flavours of Nepal and other cultures represented by our staff. The festivities culminate in a lively party where both staff and residents come together to celebrate Dashain. This celebration creates an atmosphere of unity, where people of different backgrounds bond over shared experiences and traditions.
